Hey there.
Beginning this year, my intention is to create a body of work to capture my unfolding ideas, learnings, and experiences along the way... and share them publicly.
Why?
Well…
I’m writing for my own growth. This sh*t takes courage. I jump out of airplanes on a regular basis and it’s not as scary as this. If we don’t keep pushing ourselves, what’s the point?
I’m writing to clarify my thinking.
I’m writing to give you, dear reader, insight into my mind and heart. I believe it’s a great way to get to know me and how I operate in the world.
I’m writing so that I can look back on it one day. It’s fun to see how we evolve over time.
As a first step, I'm going to begin by giving myself PERMISSION!
Permission to be messy and incomplete, not perfect or polished.
Permission to be a student, not be an expert or "authority figure".
Permission to write for the sake of writing, not optimize for likes or validation or any external outcomes.
Permission to write from the heart.
Permission to write about whatever is happening for me that might not fit neatly into a niche or “content strategy". The strategy is to simply write.
Permission to be bold and go out on limbs.
Permission to be disliked (by some people). As someone with an inner people-pleaser and tendency to want to be liked, this is perhaps the toughest yet most important one. By facing this head-on, I am striving to choose to grow where it’s uncomfortable.
Permission to be loved (by other people). Who knows, maybe my stuff will resonate with some of you. If it does, I’d love to connect with you in some way.
Permission to create magic.
I'm already so excited to look back a year from now on this post. Here’s to the beginning of something great. My inner wisdom knows that even if nobody reads or likes this, the continual practice of writing and sharing my thoughts will catalyze my evolution tremendously - how I think, how I love, how I am present.
That is what I bring to myself, my loved ones, and my communities on a daily basis.
That is worth it.
It is worth it!
I love this! Especially giving yourself permission to be HUMAN! Can't wait for your messy magic! ;)
